Journal Prompt

Knowing Your Worth — A Journal Prompt for Black Women

Stop negotiating with people who haven't earned a seat at your table. A 10-minute writing exercise on self-worth.

Worth isn't proven; it's witnessed. The people who can't witness yours simply aren't in the room you belong in.

Today's prompt asks you to write the room out loud — who's in it, what it sounds like, and what no longer makes the guest list.

My standards are not a wish list. They are the entry fee.

Sit with these three questions

  1. Where am I confusing being chosen with being convenient — and how do I correct it today?
  2. What does someone earn the right to from me, and what is non-negotiable from the start?
  3. Whose voice in my head needs to be evicted before I can hear my own?

This is 1 of 28 prompts from the journal.
